CAKES
There are a variety of cakes for you to choose from: Chocolate mud cake, Carrot cake, Madeira sponge, Coconut cake, Coffee cake, Lemon sponge, Banana cake and Fruit cake. I can also provide eggless, dairy free & gluten free cakes, please contact me for details.
You may choose any of the cakes seen on this website, where space is available, you may have a message piped onto your cake, in any colour. The colours of the icing on your cake can also be changed if you wish.
Cakes can be adapted to suit your portion size, where possible.
You are welcome to bring your own design or picture of a cake. Alternatively, I will help you to design the cake that you would like.
I would also be happy to provide only the decorations if you prefer to bake your own cake, figures cannot be posted out, sorry.
WEDDING CAKES
Wedding cakes can be stacked in a variety of ways including: American style stacking where each tier sits directly on the other. Semi-stacked where the bottom tiers are stacked directly on each other & the top tier is set on pillars. Cakes can also be displayed using chrome stands, the most popular being E or S stands, these can be left as they are or wrapped in a complementary ribbon to your cake. Traditionally your cakes can be separated by pillars of various sizes & shapes. There are other options available also.
In addition, apart from cakes on the chrome stands, you may like to have your cake set on a silver or gold base (seen in some of the pictures on this site)
Please note: A charge of £10 and a refundable deposit of £30 will be required to hire the stands or bases. The acrylic cupcake stand is £10 with a refundable deposit of £60, the stands need to be returned within a few days of your celebration.
Wedding cakes are priced higher than celebration cakes as costs for wedding fairs and wedding advertising are recouped through wedding cakes only. If you would like to choose a celebration cake as a wedding cake, please add 50% to the cost stated for the cake as priced for a celebration cake.
Cake samples are available on request for wedding cakes only, 3 samples are free of charge, extra samples are charged at £4 each.
THE PROCESS OF ORDERING & PAYMENT
Initially, for wedding cakes, you will need to make an appointment to see me & discuss your requirements. Once a decision is made then a deposit of 20% will be needed to secure your cake. An exact price of the cake chosen will be given at this time via telephone or e-mail. The remaining balance will be due 4 weeks before the date the cake is to be ready for.
For all other celebration cakes, you can make an appointment with me to discuss your cake ideas otherwise bookings can be taken over the phone, please contact me for details. Payment for celebration cakes will require a deposit of 50% with the remainder payable on the day of collection in cash. Payments can be accepted by cheque, cash or bank transfer. Cheques made payable to Sugar Crafted Cakes at 28 Kingstonia Gardens, Ripon. HG4 1TE. These are only accepted if the order is made more than 2 weeks before the date of the occasion otherwise bank transfer or cash will be accepted. Please contact me for bank details regarding bank transfer payments.

Appointment times are weekdays 10am or 12pm, Tuesday or Wednesday evenings 6pm or 6.30pm or Saturdays 10.15am or 11am.
DELIVERY/COLLECTION
Wedding cakes can be delivered & set up free of charge within 10 miles of Ripon, over 10 miles, the cost will be £1.25 per mile (one way).
You may alternatively collect the cake which will be boxed ready for you. For wedding cakes, instructions for setting up your cake will be given.
Celebration cakes are collection only, they can be collected between 10am and 3pm, then 4.30pm-6pm mon-fri or between 9 and 10am only on Saturday mornings, this is to allow time for my appointments and deliveries.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are collecting your cake, you will need to have an empty, flat boot to transport your cake in. Cakes cannot travel on passenger seats or peoples laps. If transporting a tiered cake, great care must be taken whilst driving. Sugar Crafted Cakes cannot be held responsible for cakes that are damaged in transportation with the customer.

PRICE
The prices quoted on this website are for the cakes as shown. Prices will increase/decrease for alternative choice of cake, size of cake, decoration etc. I will be able to give you an exact quote after the initial visit or over the phone.
Prices are not given for wedding cakes as every cake is adapted for each individuals needs. As a guide, I have given starting prices for the most common tier options.
